Congratulations Dylon!!!

We wanted to take a moment to say a huge "Congratulations" to our son, Dylon. His school just finished their basketball season this past week. The Tigers secured District top honors as District 7-2A Champions. They continued well into the post-season with a viable bid for the championship. And although they fell short in the quarterfinals (to a team with a 6'9", 6'7", and two 6'5"s), no one could be more proud of a high school team than us! Dylon was the only underclassman starter for his team, but this 6'2" sophomore held his own. Defensively, he was clearly one of the best on the team as he repeatedly stripped balls, locked down top scorers, blocked shots, and more.

Offensively, he contributed to a team that had two seniors that have averaged 20+ points per game, including a hard-fought victory over a huge district rival. You can read about it here:

He was surrounded by a group of talented seniors that we will truly miss.

Dylon's efforts earned him a top spot in his district with an Honorable Mention for the All-District Team. You can read about that accolade HERE. He also successfully landed his first dunk in a home game, which was exciting to see.

Congrats to Dylon and the entire Tiger's Basketball Team. You truly entertained the school and gave us something to be proud of!

You did it, Jeff!!!! 26.2!!!!!

He did it! He did it!  Jeff ran 26.2 miles to complete his first full marathon in honor of the one-year anniversary of his father's lost battle with cancer.  He finished in 4hrs and 45 minutes (almost 2 hours faster that I did a few years ago)!  Jeff Maggio, you are awesome!  We love you!

Happy 16th, Son!

Wow, this is one of those amazing days --- my eldest turned 16 today.  It's weird, honestly.  I certainly don't feel old enough to be here. 

Dylon, I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday.  It was 1:00am and you were staring at me with those huge brown eyes and very long dark brown hair.  Your cheeks were mega-fat and you were the cutest little bundle of joy I had ever seen.  I was exhausted and went to bed soon after, but I couldn't sleep. I got up and walked down to the hospital nursery to just peek at you once again. You were so sweet. 

You are growing into a fine young man and I cannot wait to see all you become in Christ.  I love you, son!

Kids First Day of School

Well, the two oldest are now in high school.  I really can hardly believe that time has flown by so quickly!
